Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed... deep cut after only 40 miles Tires are *really* hard to install and remove on Mavic Comete Pro SL UST wheels, unlike their videos show. Rode 3 times and after only 40 miles I had a deep cut which the sealant couldn't fix. Had to plug with dynaplugs which let me get home. Got home, removed tire and plug, tire looks non-repairable. Can't find this tire in stock anywhere to purchase. Also, can't fit my [other brand] tire with tubes as they're impossible to fit on the Comete wheel. My [other brand] tire survived 5,288 miles riding on the same roads. Had 5 flats over 5,288 miles (yes, I keep track of this) but never a cut like this. Now I'm stuck with a nice Mavic wheel but no tire to go with it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Seal Well, Prone to Nicks and Cuts I have a love/hate relationship with the Mavic Ksyrium Pro UST Wheels and Ykison Pro UST Tires. I love the fact that they are one pound lighter than my 2012 Mavic Ksyrium Elite Clinchers. I also love the fact that this tire and wheel setup is much less harsh riding. But... I hate the fact that I had to replace the rear tire after only two weeks of riding - less than 100 miles. The good news is that the cut actually sealed. The bad news is that the cut was so bad that I had to replace the rear tire. I purchased a second tire just to be safe as this is my daily commuter. I really was expecting at least 6-months of life out of these tires.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great ride, great grip, but cuts easily I really like the ride and grip of these tires at 87 psi on my new Cosmic Pro Elites. However, in my first two rides I got slices in the tires that lead to blowing out all of the sealant in the rear tire to the point where I had to call for a ride. I pulled the tire and patched the inside, re-mounted (more difficult than the first time), and added sealant. This worked for a while, but again got cuts that resulted in losing all the sealant a second time. Pulled the tire again, patched the inside, and am running again. I see sealant on my frame every ride though so I can see they continue to leak. I'm running the 25mm and wonder if the 28mm would be any better?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really Fragile Adding to the chorus of bad reviews about durability. Riding in normal late-fall conditions in Northern California, on roads and paved trails exclusively, the front tire got badly damaged after less than a month. In fact, the first puncture occurred roughly 2 weeks into owning the wheels and tires, and gotten to the point that sealant and Dynaplugs would no longer hold. To add insult to injury - I cannot even order the tires from Mavic, since they appear to be out of stock in perpetuity. Really disappointed by this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Prone to Flats I went through at least 4 rear tires last year in less than 3,000 miles. Flatted on my very first ride in January 2018 after waiting 2 month for the thru-axle adapter to be made available. Typically after about 200-300 miles blisters appear on the side wall and then appear on the tread with a flat flowing not long after. I've managed to wedge a pair of Conti GP 5000 TLs on, they're much faster. But this defeats the purpose as if I flatted on the road it would be extremely hard to get the tire off much less get a tube in and get the tire back on. As the wheels and tires are marketed as a system this is disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engineering wheel + tire is a strong advantage I am sold on tubeless for road cycling here in Texas USA with lots of stickers making life with tubes not so much fun. We have 3 road bikes that range from inexpensive DIY tubeless wheel/tire combo to the high end Mavic engineered solution (COMETE carbon UST wheels + Yksion Pro UST tires). They all work for our purposes but the Mavic UST combo is far superior for performance, installation, inflation, and air retention. Even without sealant when setting the tires (I use an air blast tank but often can do it with just a floor pump) they retain air quite well due to the well designed seal. I learned a lesson the hard (expensive) way last week when I destroyed both Yksion Pro UST tires hitting a pothole. It was my fault for running at too low pressure (25mm tires at 80 psi ... I'm 200 lb) ... and stupidly not watching for big potholes ... I know now I shouldn't have bought the hype that you don't have to worry about pinch flats with tubeless though they are less susceptible than clinchers with tubes certainly. Both tires had damage the sealant couldn't handle and I didn't feel comfortable trying to patch them. That was on me not Mavic ... I'll always use max recommended pressure from now on as a heavier guy. One side note: I'm really impressed by the durability of the Mavic COMETE carbon wheels after that dual pinch flat hit. I was certain I'd damaged them with such a big smack but they showed no sign of damage at all ... I was very relieved. The concern I have as I write this review (November 8, 2018) is that I had a lot of trouble finding 25mm Yksion Pro UST tires for sale online in the US. I hope they aren't being phased out because my wheels were designed for them (and I wasn't able to confidently install Schwalbe Pro Ones on the Mavic UST wheels). I did find a pair of 28mm Yksion Pro UST tires I installed today but haven't ridden yet. I'm eager to see how the 28's perform and feel ... I'll be running them at max recommended pressure. Before my incident I was pleased with the performance of the Mavic Yksion Pro UST tires with no issues at all. I found them comparable to Schalbe Pro One tires I'd been using but the Mavics install easier and wear better for me. Question for Mavic: Is there a long term commitment to ensure availability of 25 mm 700 cc tires that are compatible with our Mavic UST wheels here in the US?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in my investment Brand new Ksyrium Pro UST Disc wheels with 25mm Yksion Pro UST tires. This was my first venture into tubeless tires. I initially had problems with the rear tire holding pressure but chalked it up to being the nature of tubeless. The front tire had no issues even without sealant. I was impressed with how smooth the tires felt, but 10 miles into my first ride I noticed sealant all over my drivetrain and frame. I added more air and was able to make it home where I noticed a small cut right in the center of the tire. I thought it was just my luck to have punctured, but It seems like the tire just split at that location as there was no drebris on the road whatsoever. The tire would not hold over 60 psi after the sealant had set. I have since patched it from the inside, but I my confidence is shaken.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good ride good tire good protection. One of the routes I ride I get a flat at least 35% of the time I ride it. But it’s close to my house so for convenients I ride it. Since I started using the Yksion’s I have had two punchers and both sealed them selfs and I wasn’t even awear of the problem until I was home and saw sealant on the frame of the bike. As far as I’m concerned this tire has done it’s job for me. And it has a great comfortable ride as well as being sure footed on curves and on a down hill at 35 to 40 mph.
