Ksyrium Pro Exalith is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive so far I've had these for about a week now and no real complaints. They are light, stiff and sturdy. I'm at 170 lbs and ride mainly in coastal South Carolina. Not many hills to speak of except for bridges and overpasses but plenty back roads that only see maintenance once every other election cycle. These wheels handled them with no problem. Braking is excellent if a little unique. The grooved braking surface provides plenty of stopping power along with descending whistle sound as you slow. I've heard this will diminish as the exalith peaks wear a little over time. Meanwhile, it's not an unpleasant sound. I just pretend I'm dropping bombs when I brake.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Braking but Flexes Too Much The braking is superb and very modulated. No need for ugly, hard-to-maintain disk brakes with these wheels. They make more noise than a traditional Ksyrium but it doesn't bother me. I had one or two "screams" at first, but they bed in after a time and it stops. They look great. My only issue is that when I put a lot of power (by my standards) down on a climb, the rear wheel flexes so much that it touches against the brake pads. This kind of sucks because I normally like to set my brakes close to the rim, but with the Exaliths I'm having to set the pads much further from the rim. Perhaps this is due to the carbon spokes? If anyone has a suggestion on how to reduce this flex, I'd be interested to hear! All-in-all highly recommended in spite of the flex reservation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst mavic wheel ever I bought these wheels almost a year ago. Thinking they would be great wheels, as I have had numerous ksyrium high end wheels in the past. The braking surface touted to be superior is absolutely not any better than the other wheels I have had from Mavic. The only superior thing these wheels do is in the noise making department. The scream when hard braking and make a jet engine like noise with even lite braking. I replaced with ksyrium elite UST wheels. Too bad I am out 0ver $1200 for these horrible wheels.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I hate these wheels I got a pair of these wheels last summer. They are slower than the stock Aksiums that came with my bike. The brake noise is unbelievable - sounds like a bomb dropping from the sky. I have adjusted the brake pads, but they still whistle loudly with even the slightest pressure. Like a previous reviewer, I replaced them with a set of Ksyrium Elite UST wheels - which I absolutely love.

GripLink

GripLink

Grip and control
A front tyre, whether a clincher or a tubular, must fully liberate the wheel’s ability to hold the ground and control the bike. Therefore, GripLink tyres are optimized for front use, by offering a superior grip and extra puncture protection.

Zicral

Zicral

Light, stiff and strong
A specific aluminum alloy that provides spokes with higher stiffness-to-weight ratio while being stronger.

FTS-L

FTS-L

Force Transfer System Light
Reinforcement of key transmission components: the contact area between the pawl and the hub body is reinforced by 2 stainless steel inserts, which allows the use of a 100% aluminum hub body.

Isopulse

Isopulse

Optimum energy transfer
The spokes are laced radially on the drive side and crossed 2 on the non drive side to maximise drive side dish, thus providing a better spoke tension balance between left and right flanges.

PowerLink

PowerLink

Low rolling resistance
A rear tyre, whether a clincher or a tubular, must fully liberate the wheel’s ability to transfer power and generate speed. Therefore, PowerLink tyres are optimized for rear wheel use, by minimizing the rolling resistance.

ISM 4D

ISM 4D

Inter Spoke Milling 4 Dimensions
An exclusive Mavic patented concept, ISM 4D significantly reduces weight and inertia without compromising durability. Quicker accelerations, better handling and more resistance ; the right mix to make the most of any ride. The smooth profile also helps reducing aerodynamic drag

Fore

Fore

Stiffer and stronger
Instead of being drilled, the lower rim bridge is pushed up on the inside, then threaded to enable the spoke nipples to be directly screwed in it, leaving the upper rim bridge intact.

Exalith 2

Exalith 2

High braking performance
The Mavic exclusive Exalith 2 technology for aluminum rims has been refined to provide a very high level of durability and braking performance in all weather conditions.

Maxtal

Maxtal

Light and strong
Exclusive to Mavic, this specific aluminum alloy offers a higher strength to weight ratio than conventional 6106 alloy.

QRM+

QRM+

Qualité de Roulements Mavic +
Our most demanding level. Those cartridge bearings are of course double sealed with C3 internal clearance, and toped with a micro-adjustability system.

SUP

SUP

Stronger and smoother joint
Soudé Usiné Process. After bending, the rim joint is arc welded. The welded seam is then milled for a smooth finish.
