Deemax Pro Limited Edition Sam Hill is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid Wheel but the hub? These wheels are super sweet! I have had them on my Ripmo all season and it is hard to compete with them - light (for what they are) yet really strong. Don't let the spoke count scare you off! I am 200lbs ready to ride and don't exactly finesse the trail but they are without dent, totally true, and no hops. So why 3 stars? The hub. I was excited to see Mavic go the star ratchet route hoping to see a boost in reliability. I want to love them and do when they work- they sound great, engagement is more than adequate, seemingly simple to service. However, over the course of 6-months I have blown the hub twice! Fool me once... The first time was before their 3rd ride on a driveway just pedaling around. Most recently, I was smack dab in the middle of a ride leaving me to hike-a-bike. When I say "blown hub", there is a part that is attached to the hub shell that engages with the star ratchet while pedaling. Both times, I have sheered this piece leaving me with zero points of engagement. Fortunately there is a warranty and they have been great to work with thus far, but sub par for their flagship Enduro wheel... I have had entry level wheel sets that have lasted longer without issue.
