It rained that year, turning the cobblestones treacherous. Chaos and crashes ensued. Hinault went down three times. At one point he was forced to run through a field, carrying his bike, to avoid a fallen motorbike blocking the road. Near the end of the race, with 13km to go, a small dog ran in front of Hinault, causing him to crash again. Filled with rage, he chased back to the leaders, caught them before the velodrome finish, and sprinted to victory.
“The Badger versus the Dog” is one of many legendary tales in Hinault’s colorful career. Best known for winning five Tours de France and all three grand tours, including the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España, he is a legend who did it all. His style—pugnacious, aggressive and bossy—is unforgettable.
This special limited edition kit honors Hinault as one of cycling’s greatest champions. It includes a jersey, cap and socks that combines classic throwback style with modern performance and comfort.
